The Power Yoga for Beginners Class aka SLOW BURN is for new yoga students or for those who wish to re-visit the basic foundations of the Power/Vinyasa Yoga format. It is based on the most recent collaborative work by Dr. Aaron and 3-Time WCW Heavyweight Champion, Diamond Dallas Page. The future book and DVD is called Yoga For Regular Guys, but it’s for everyone! The Yoga For Regular Guys program is the perfect fusion of Old School Calisthenics, Core Stability Training and Power Yoga, which also incorporates the hottest new concept of Isometric Slow Motion Strength Training. This continuous and flowing class pays special attention to the specific alignment of each yoga position/posture and emphasizes the proper way to breathe while performing each posture. This is all done without breaking up the flow of a traditional Vinyasa style yoga practice. Before each class we ask our students which sports they participate in. Then we tailor make the class based on the specific needs of each sport. It is a great class for those who want to learn how to use certain yoga postures in order to stay on top of their game while counteracting any repetitive motions or negative aspects that each sport may impose. In this intermediate to advanced class, we “let it all hang out” and boldly take you to places that you may have never been before, and at the same time, we offer many variations to each posture and encourage you to work to up your individual level of ability without “throwing caution to the wind.” Time: 75 minutes or more. What Type of Yoga do the Aaron’s teach? The Aarons describe their yoga classes as: Balanced Freestyle Vinyasa, which borrows from the Ashtanga, Iyengar and Anusara Yoga traditions while offering a fresh infusion of humor, upbeat music and sports medical information. “Freestyle” describes the spontaneous, creative and free flowing aspects of the Aarons’ teaching style. “Balanced” describes the Ashtanga principle of flexion or bending poses which flow into extension counterposes. This emphasizes the balanced and therapeutic results that the Aarons’ yoga classes deliver to their students. “Vinyasa” means flowing or connecting. Vinyasa Yoga is defined as a series of Hatha Yoga postures which flow from one to the next. The Ashtanga Yoga system is a type Vinyasa Yoga.
